Something Like This….

The dusk has set in the city,

Wrapped in solitude, with an abandoned heart,

Smiling with the music that gave me goosebumps,

Trainwrecks in my mind, sores in my heart.

Wrapped in distinction, gaiting forward,

Draped in despair, pacing towards the unknown,

Engulfed in vines of agony, struggling to set free,

Then, an exquisite shimmer flickered ahead of me!

I strolled towards the light, with a battling heart,

Bracing, combating, noises in observances, treading forward,

Uncertain, until sleuth became real.

You, with a warm smile. A demeanour.

You, head tilted. dark, deep brown eyes iridescent in the dark.

Searching, locked gaze with mine with adoration for a split second.

Felt like an eternity. Goosebumps and jilted.

Your arms stretched towards,

Cold, hesitation, I stepped closer, inhaling your scent.

I stretched my arms towards you.

Hypnotized my senses, weakened my knees,

Unchained, unrestricted, safe once again.

Sweet whispers echoed in my senses, “would you take the risk?”

I closed eyes, “something just like this.”
